President departs on three-day Turkish visit

President Dr Arif Alvi departed Sunday on the three-day official visit to Turkey, on the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
During his visit, the president is scheduled to attend and address the opening ceremony of the newly built international airport in Istanbul. The event would also be attended by heads of state and government from other countries.
He is likely to hold bilateral meetings with Turkish president and other leaders too. Speaking to the media at Islamabad International Airport before departing, the president said, “We are not establishing any relations with Israel.”
He also dismissed reports regarding the presence of an Israeli aircraft in Pakistan airspace as ‘baseless’.
Earlier this week, An Israeli journalist sparked a storm of speculation on social media when he tweeted that an aircraft flew from Tel Aviv to Islamabad.
President Alvi further said, “Jamal Khashoggi’s murder should be investigated. Saudi Arabia is our friend and we will stand with them in this difficult time.”
He also confirmed that Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit China soon to discuss different economic issues.
