Nawaz decides against attending APC in meeting with Shehbaz

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday met his younger brother and Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif, at the Parliament House to discuss various matters.
The meeting was held at the chamber of the former Punjab chief minister where Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) bigwigs including Raja Zafarul Haq, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Hamza Shehbaz and Khawaja Asif were also present.
During the meeting, it was decided that Nawaz Sharif would not attend the All Parties Conference (APC) being conducted by the Jamat-e-Islami-F (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazl ur Rahman. It was decided that a delegation of the PML-N leaders will attend the APC. The party will support the opposition on national issues, it was also decided.
Nawaz arrived at the Parliament House earlier today to meet the party president, who briefly met him and went to the attend the NA session. The meeting was started after Shehbaz came after attending the session.
This is the first time former premier made his appearance in the Parliament House since his removal as prime minister last year.
The PML-N President, who was arrested by the NAB in Ashiyana Housing Scheme case earlier this month, was allowed by an accountability court to attend the NA session after Speaker Asad Qaiser issued his production order.
Taking advantage of Shehbaz’s presence in the Parliament House, Nawaz Sharif decided to hold a meeting with him and other party leaders in his chamber.
The party president is likely to take Nawaz Sharif into confidence over his meeting with Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.
The JUI-F chief called on Nawaz in Lahore on Sunday to convince him to attend the APC but, local media citing sources, claimed that the latter had refused to attend the conference.
However, Rahman talking to media said that the PML-N supermo had said that he will give the answer after discussing the matter with party president
